Larry Aceves serves in his 11th year as Superintendent
of the highly diverse Franklin McKinley School District.
Prior to his current position, Larry served as Superintendent
of the Alum Rock Union School District for three years.
Additionally, he was Deputy Superintendent in the Pajaro
Valley Unified School District, as well as a Director,
Principal, and Classroom Teacher in San Diego. Larry
has been actively involved in both professional and
community organizations during his fourteen years in
San Jose. He is currently past president of the 16,000
member Association of California School Administrators
and is a past president of the California Latino Superintendent's
Association. He has been appointed by the State Superintendent
of Public Instruction, Jack O’Connell to serve on the
prestigious state Quality Education Commission. A Senior
Fellow with the American Leadership Forum, Larry sits
on the Governing Board and has been a member of various
charitable boards, including United Way of Santa Cruz,
Alum Rock Counseling Center, and Santa Clara County
Youth Foundation.

Teresa Alvarado is a Public Affairs
Representative for Pacific Gas & Electric Company
(PG&E), serving as the company's liaison with government
and community leaders in the Silicon Valley. Ms. Alvarado
has more than a decade of experience in public affairs,
as the Director of Public Affairs for the San José
Convention & Visitors Bureau and as Environmental
Compliance Specialist, specializing in environmental
justice, at NASA/Ames Research Center. She is the founder
of the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley and currently
serves as a board member of CompassPoint Nonprofit Services,
Hispanic Foundation Silicon Valley, San José-Evergreen
Community College District Foundation, and YWCA of Silicon
Valley. Teresa, and her husband, Jess, are both San
Jose natives.

Pamela Anderson-Brulé is a founder and the president of Anderson Brulé Architects, Inc. The majority of her work over the last twenty-one years has been dedicated to public architecture and the public process. She works with city and county staffs, redevelopment agencies, schools and special interest groups in a wide variety of public planning and building types. Pamela was principally responsible for the operational planning of the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, which includes a half a million square feet of facilities and is jointly operated by the City of San José and San José State University.
Pamela is a fourth generation, San José resident, has served as president of the American Institute of Architects Santa Clara Valley Chapter (AIASCV).

Muhammed Chaudhry serves as Executive Director
for the Franklin McKinley Education Foundation (FMEF).
During his three year tenure, FMEF has seen a period
of rapid growth both financially and in service delivery.
Prior to FMEF, Muhammed held various management positions
in marketing with Dazzle Multimedia and The Clorox Company.
Muhammed serves as Vice President of MKA USA and Board
Member of the California Consortium of Education Foundations,
the San Jose Arena Authority and the Hispanic Foundation
Silicon Valley. His personal interests include golf
and long distance running. Muhammed holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration from San
Jose State University. He resides in San Jose with
his wife, Rabia.

Ms. Van T. Dang is Vice President, Law & Deputy General Counsel at Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, California. She’s the head of the Product and Technology Transactional Group within the Legal Department. Ms. Dang is also responsible for privacy and data protection compliance at Cisco. She is Executive Sponsor of the Women in Technology Initiative at Cisco with the mission to increase women participation in the science and technology fields.
Ms. Dang joined Cisco in 1996 when Cisco acquired Stratacom. Prior to working for Cisco, Ms. Dang was Vice President, Corporate Counsel of Maxtor Corporation (1992-1996). From 1987 through 1992, Ms. Dang was a corporate associate at Pillsbury Winthrop LLP (formerly, Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro).

Dustin DeRollo is
a partner with Saggau & DeRollo, a political consulting
and government relations firm in San Jose where he advises
clients that range from multinational corporations,
to local labor unions, political campaigns and elected
officials. He previously served as San Jose Mayor Ron
Gonzales' Deputy Chief of Staff, during which he led
the mayor's neighborhood revitalization and public safety
efforts, including the Strong Neighborhood Initiative.
A political science graduate from San Jose State University,
Dustin lives in San Jose with his wife Daniela, an up-and-coming
Bay Area chef.

Ammar
Hanafi is a General Partner at Alloy Ventures, joining the company in 2005 from Cisco Systems. He joined Cisco in 1997 as a member of the Corporate Business Development Group. During Ammar’s tenure, Cisco’s Business Development Group completed over 50 acquisitions, leading Cisco into a number of major new businesses. From 2000 to 2002, he was Vice President of Corporate Business Development. His last role at Cisco was as Vice President of New Business Ventures where he led new product efforts in the enterprise datacenter market. Prior to Cisco, Ammar held positions at PanAmSat Corporation, a global satellite services provider, and the investment banking firms of Morgan Stanley and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Ammar is also a director of 3Leaf Networks. Ammar received his MBA from Stanford University and his B.S. in Engineering Physics from Cornell University. Married with two daughters, he enjoys scuba diving and photography.

Paul Luciano has been with Merrill Lynch for
over 11 years, and is currently a Senior Partner on
a team that works with high net worth families in achieving
financial planning goals. Paul was born and raised in
New Rochelle, NY and educated in Finance at Northeastern
University, Boston and Cal State University, Long Beach.
Growing up in a single parent household, Paul received
guidance from 'father figures' at the local Boys and
Girls Club and various school and city sports programs;
he attributes much of his success to lessons learned
from volunteers who helped shape his growth. Paul serves
as board member for both FMEF and the Mid-Peninsula
Boys and Girls Club of San Mateo. His service on these
youth focused boards reflects Paul's belief in giving
back to children, schools, and community. Paul is engaged
to be married and his interests include physical fitness,
skiing, wine, and world economics.

Tim Silva is Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo
Bank. He began his career at Wells Fargo 29 years ago
as a teller then moved to retail banking management
positions including Division Manager and Vice President
and Operations Manager. In addition to overall management
responsibilities, he is actively involved in community
outreach through the Wells Fargo Foundation and serves
as a board member for the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber
of Commerce. Tim is also the Vice Chair of the California
State University Hayward’s Education Foundation.
He holds a trustee position with the San Jose Museum
of Art. A California native, he graduated from California
State University Hayward with a bachelor’s degree
in liberal studies and completed the Retail Bank Management
School of Banking in Virginia.

Faysal Sohail is a General Partner with CMEA
Ventures. Mr. Sohail has more than a decade of senior
executive experience in engineering, marketing and business
development. He was CEO of Cadabra Design Automation
and managed its acquisition by Numerical Technologies
(NMTC) where he served as Sr. Vice President of Worldwide
Field Operations. Prior to Numerical Technologies, Faysal
was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy for
Synopsys Inc. (SNPS). He is currently on the Board of
Directors of Alien Technology, Applied Wave Research
and Inovys Corporation. Mr. Sohail holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in computer engineering from the University
of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) where he also serves
on the College of Engineering Advisory Board (CEAB).
He is also on the boards of Pyxis Technology and Zenasis
Technology. Married with 4 kids he enjoys golf and spending
time with his kids.

Cora Tomalinas is a community activist whose contributions and donations of her energy and talents resulted in an impressive list of boards, Commissions, Task Forces and advocating community issues. Having been born in Agoo, La Union, Philippines, her commitment in helping the lives of individuals started upon receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from San Francisco State University in 1967. Through her participation with St. Maria Goretti Church, her church, Ms. Tomalinas became a member of PACT (People Acting in Community Together) Steering Committee. She is also a chairperson for both the East Side Union High School District’s Parent Safety Council and the Franklin McKinley School District’s Health Start Program. Her lists of accomplishments, and work are endless. She resides in East San Jose, and has two adult children, Maria and Robert.

Jocelyn Zona is IBM Corporation’s
Community Relations Manager for the Western United States,
responsible for government affairs, community relations
and philanthropy in California and 9 other states. Before
joining IBM in 2002 she worked for Hewlett-Packard in
Human Resources for two and a half years. Prior to that
she was a school principal for 10 years in the Campbell
Union School District, and began her career as a psychologist.
She is co-President of the Industry Initiatives for
Science and Math Education (IISME) board, as well as
a member of the Springboard Schools (formerly Bay Area
School Reform Collaborative) board. Additionally she
serves on the education committees for both the Silicon
Valley Leadership Group and the Silicon Valley Chamber
of Commerce. Born and raised in the central valley of
California, she completed her Masters degree in psychology
at San Jose State University. Her hobbies include running,
sailing, cooking, traveling and gardening.

Dan Fenton
is the president and CEO of the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau (SJCVB), and has been a driving force behind San Jose's tourism industry for nine years. Having joined the SJCVB in 1996, Dan has since guided the organization through unprecedented growth, market diversification, the aftermath of September 11, and a shifting economic climate. Dan is a founding member of San Jose State University's Hospitality Program, a board member of the San Jose Arts and Culture Roundtable and the Mexican Heritage Corporation. He is involved in Rotary Club of San José, United Way Silicon Valley and the San Jose Sports Authority. Fenton graduated with distinction from Cornell University and is a Trustee of his high school alma mater, the York School in Monterey.

Ron Gonzales was reelected as Mayor of San
José in the March Primary of 2002. His goals
as mayor include strengthening neighborhoods, improvement
of public education, and ensuring the continuing economic
vitality of the city with high quality public services
and effective solutions to affordable housing and traffic
congestion in the region. The commitment of Mayor Gonzales
to San Jose neighborhoods and residents has led to a
renewed emphasis on the reinvestment and redevelopment
of communities throughout the city in collaboration
with residents, grassroots organizations and local businesses.
He has led the city’s successful efforts to curtail
graffiti, improve pedestrian
and traffic safety, and expand parks and libraries throughout
San Jose.

Martin Renteria moved to San Jose in 1970.
As a resident of the Fair/Santee community, Martin takes
pride in being a part of efforts to make his neighborhood
a “good place to live”. As a member of the
Santee Homeowners’ Association, Martin is actively
involved in issues important to owners and renters.
Martin serves as President of the Fair Exchange Community
Board, member of the Community Action Team, and Neighborhood
Advisory Council for San Jose’s Strong Neighborhoods
Initiative (SNI), and volunteer for Our City Forest,
a non-profit organization working to beautify San Jose
communities. Martin believes that everyone should do
his/her part in contributing to the future of children,
ensuring that youth have a clean, safe, and vibrant
environment to grow and develop. Martin believes that
a “high quality of life” can be achieved
when everyone contributes. His interests include racquetball
and bike-riding.

Congress woman Zoe Lofgren
represents California’s 16th district which encompasses
much of the City of San Jose. She served on the Board
of Supervisors of Santa Clara County from 1981 until
1995, when she became a Member of Congress. In her second
term in Congress, she led the fight to ensure that schools
receive Internet access, and she is always advocating
for schools and crime-prevention projects in her district.
Zoe continues to concentrate on education and high-technology
issues in her third term in Congress. She reintroduced
the SAFE Act, which would preserve the privacy of confidential
files and communications in the Information Age while
supporting the sale of strong U.S. encryption products
around the world.
