Alternative Education Collaborative (AEC)

The Alternative Education Collaborative (AEC) was developed to help connect out-of-school youths and their families with the resources to re-enroll into various existing and/or start-up alternative education programs. The AEC is one of five district/community projects selected for funding through a national initiative by the Youth Transition Funders Group.

The goals of the collaborative are to:

  • Increase awareness about alternative education programs
  • Providing educational options and improving outcomes for near drop-out and out-of-school youths.
  • Increase the number of youth enrolled in alternative education programs
  • Identify program capacity
  • Strengthening and supporting these programs and
  • Track success of programs through a follow-up support system
